How Do You Know You Have a Loving Culture?

16God is love, and the one who remains in love remains in God, and God remains in him. 17In this, love is made complete with us so that we may have confidence in the day of judgment, because as he is, so also are we in this world. 18There is no fear in love; instead, perfect love drives out fear, because fear involves punishment. So the one who fears is not complete in love.

1 John 4:16-18

The less fear the people in your organization have, the more you know you love each other.

Fear shows up because we fear judgement.

Judgement for making a mistake.
Judgement for speaking up.
Judgement for having an opinion.

As leaders, you want to push out judgement through love. Presence is Love. The more judgement is pushed out of your organization the more…

People will take risks.
People will push back to get the right answer.
People will let their voice be known.

A no fear culture will have more chaos.
A no fear culture will have more mistakes.
A no fear culture will have more voices.

A no fear culture will have zero judgement (or at least as close to zero as possible this side of Heaven).

You’re leading towards a preferred future and you want the best path to the preferred future. To Influence more people, you must have more Presence. To have more Presence, you will have Love for your people. The more Love you have, the more people will drive towards your preferred future.

And the better path you will take towards your preferred future.
